The target audience of the APDH comes, as already mentioned, from countries in conflict that have been devoid of democratic practices for a long time, if not always, once arriving in Switzerland, they must face other obstacles such as stigmatization, prejudice and racism, it is necessary to offer them a better understanding of the notion of “Swiss citizenship”.
The “intercultural awareness of citizenship” program allows this public to better understand not only their rights in their host country, but also their duties, and to fully understand the notions of equality, “diversity” and “living together". This is why the APDH has been particularly attached to this program since its creation.
This program is built on 3 axes:
- The right to health and well-being
- The right to culture in a context of migration
- The right to training on human rights
The objective of this program is to achieve civic equality and to facilitate the inclusion of migrants in society through the organization of various activities. The APDH is one of the only Swiss organizations to offer intercultural round tables on subjects as varied as politics, culture, commitment, religious and traditional issues, sex education, women's rights, well-being, human rights, health, personal development, in the original language.
