The priority objective of the association is to promote human rights on the ground and to raise awareness among migrants who mainly reside in Switzerland of their basic rights and duties. This awareness-raising involves intercultural communication and support and education for equal citizenship. On the one hand, it makes it possible to prevent exclusion through information, and on the other hand to fight against communitarianism and sectarian excesses. Particular emphasis is placed on the prevention of violence.
The APDH program is based on international law and Swiss law relating to social, cultural, civil, political and women's rights. The aim is to integrate migrants on a solid basis and enable them to better understand the Genevan and Swiss societal codes. Misunderstanding, or ignoring, one's rights and duties in a country that advocates efficiency, speed and flexibility can become a very strong factor of economic, political, social and cultural exclusion.
The APDH's original approach, based on experience, makes it possible, via various programs and innovative solutions in constant evolution, to promote better inclusion in society and thus reduce the risks of marginalization, discrimination, and violence against others. gender, etc.
